Conscious Dying Support
I have offered conscious dying support formally and informally since 2001. Some of what I can provide includes companionship, non-medical support, emotional and spiritual support, energy medicine focused bodywork, process witnessing, and other non-clinical care that encompasses the journey of the the dying process with compassion and consciousness throughout the Chippewa Valley. Here is more information about the various roles death doulas can hold.
This work is also known as that of an end-of-life doula, death midwife, or thanadoula. (Thanatology is the study of death and dying). I provide presence, attention, intention, and gentle bodywork at the end of life. Most often, my work is directly with those receiving end-of-life care in private homes. Additionally, if it aligns with your preferences, I am a highly experienced energy medicine practitioner with the ability to offer energy medicine-based death rites through my lineage, supporting the soul in releasing the body consciously and peacefully as the transition is made. Death doulas support the process of preparing for death and moving into the experience. Just like with birth, this beautiful life transition can be held, witnessed, attended to, and supported with great care and attention. I also offer support for processing grief that can be related to all kinds of life experiences. A sense of loss can arise around pets, relationships, changes with jobs or homes, loss of abilities or medical diagnoses, changes in family dynamics, loss of a dream or opportunity, or other related processes. A sliding fee scale is offered for these services. Please contact me at ArtemaSomatics@gmail.com for more information. |
