Dietary Therapy & Health Coaching

Dietary therapy and health coaching sessions are offered to those who would like guided support in transitioning to the Wahls Protocol.  My health coaching approach combines the ancient wisdom of Chinese Dietary Therapy and Ayurvedic Nutrition (both modalities consider the energetics of food) with modern Functional Medicine and nutrition principles. In addition to coaching around food and lifestyle, my model of care always emphasizes self-education, personal responsibility, supporting good digestion, and healthy heart connections. 

We work together, over the course of several months, to create the best circumstances and environment for your body to activate its own self healing mechanisms. You might be amazed at what your body is capable of, given the right conditions! We focus on whole foods (getting good nutrition and lowering inflammation), movement , reducing and re-framing stress, sleep hygiene, and more. If you want additional, clinical support for your healthcare team, I always recommend finding a good functional medicine doctor.

It is important that you familiarize yourself with the Wahls Protocol before choosing to work on dietary therapy with me. Make sure you're ready to make these changes at minimum, 100% for 100 days.

Some basic principles of what's included: 
  • Lots of veggies (6-9 cups per day)
  • Some fruits
  • High quality meats, organ meats, and wild-caught fish
  • Bone broth
  • Seaweeds
  • Plenty of healthy fats

Some of the things we let go of:
  • Grains
  • Dairy
  • Eggs
  • Refined sugar
  • Legumes
  • Soy
  • Vegetable oils
  • (Sometimes) Nightshades / lectins

® Certified Health Coach. My health coaching specialty area is working with those who have fibromyalgia, chronic pain, digestive issues, mood-related concerns, and other signs of chronic inflammation. I offer specialized support to self-motivated individuals who would like to transition to the Wahls Protocol.

​Please be sure you have reviewed the Wahls Protocol book or other Wahls Protocol recourses before requesting dietary therapy. You will be expected to read the book throughout the course of our sessions. 

Do your own research. Make your own decisions. Then contact me for extra support while you transition. This level of support is for those who are sick and tired of being sick and tired and for those who are ready and willing to put in the effort it takes to change their lives. Yes, you will be cooking from scratch. Yes, you will have to go grocery shopping. Yes it takes time, energy, and effort. Yes, social events that revolve around food can feel complicated at first. But, the biggest "YES!" is the yes you give to yourself as you take back your power and your life!

The bottom line is that I want you to feel better and get amazing results. That takes owning your personal responsibility, willingness for self-education, and motivation for consistency and follow through.  The protocol may come with a bit of a learning curve, b
ut don't worry. You will be amazed at how much easier it gets as you start feeling better. I'm here to help set you up for success, help you get through those first hurdles, and support you as you find what works for you. If you really want it, you can do it. Start feeling better now!

​These sessions are empowering and rewarding. We focus on a holistic, mind-body-spirit model while addressing specific concerns and goals. These sessions are for those who are motivated to "do the work." While I offer guidance and resources, lasting changes come from the effort you put forth. 
Your direct participation is key to improving your health and happiness. It is expected that you are ready to take part in extensive self-education and following the protocol 100%. ​Dr. Wahls recommends following the plan 100% for 100 days as a starting point and I emphasize that as an expectation in my coaching sessions. 

Your sessions may include any of the following:
  • ​Personalized Support
  • Nutrition, cooking, and shopping education & support
  • Introduction to functional medicine-based nutrition concepts
  • A wide variety of stress reduction and pain management tools
  • Other customized options to help you on your path to a greater sense of well-being

Sessions address and support the "ingredients for optimal biological functioning" as defined in the practice of functional medicine:
  • Whole foods
  • Healthy environment (water, air, light, etc)
  • Deep relaxation
  • Healthy sleep rhythms
  • Movement
  • Actively managing stress
  • Love and community
  • Meaning and purpose in life  ​​

* If you prefer a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, I am not the right health coach for you. The levels of the protocol that I offer support with require the consumption of animal products.
