Conscious Dying Support
As described by INELDA (International End-of-Life Doula Association), End-of-Life doulas provide companionship, comfort, and guidance to those facing a terminal illness or death. Our non-medical holistic support encompasses emotional, spiritual, and practical care. We offer resources to help the dying person, along with their family and loved ones, make informed decisions in a supportive environment.
Doulas normalize deathcare by creating spaces to hold conversations leading to increased communication and increased spiritual and emotional well being. When individuals plan for death, they have autonomy over their decisions and are able to clearly define their end-of-life wishes with family and loved ones.
Some of what I can provide includes companionship, deep listening, emotional and spiritual support, rituals that are meaningful to you, energy medicine focused bodywork, process witnessing, and other non-clinical care that encompasses the journey of the the dying process with compassion and consciousness in the Menomonie area.
This work is also known as that of a death doula, death midwife, or thanadoula. (Thanatology is the study of death and dying). I provide presence, attention, intention, and gentle, non-clinical bodywork at the end of life. Most often, my work is directly with those receiving end-of-life care in private homes. Here is more information about the various roles death doulas can hold and their scope of practice.
Death doulas support the process of preparing for death and moving into the experience. Just like with birth, this profound life transition can be held, witnessed, attended to, and supported with great care and attention. Additionally, if it aligns with your values and preferences, I am a highly experienced energy medicine practitioner with the ability to offer energy medicine-based Death Rites through my lineage of energy medicine practices, supporting the soul in releasing the body consciously and peacefully as the transition is made.
A sliding fee scale is offered for these services. Please contact me via email for more information.
